I AM BACK!!!! WARNING: LONG POST CONTAINING MANY DIFFERENT EVENTS!!

FYI: This post started on the 17th of Feb 2007 as a draft cos i couldn't finish it on the day. So hopefully i'll finish it today, the 25th Feb 2007, if not, there'll be a notice. Haha.

So....

Hello people, all my friends, family...

I am back in Brisbane for a new school year, I'm going to Uni!!! This should be fun :)

First of all, the story of my travel. Today is the 17th of Feb 07', first day of Chinese New Year if i remember correctly, i will be going for a buffet dinner tonight with the gang and a new addition, Chi Wee, Alan's brother-in-law, who will be heading back to his country soon. We will be celebrating his birthday and Chinese New Year tonight! Woohoo!

Ok, on a more serious note.
I arrived on the 14th, yes, Valentine's Day, no big deal, celebrating my 19th, or should i say 20th year being a bachelorette! Hoorah! And hopefully, in 3-years time, if i don't fail any units, i will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts! Get it? Bachelorette and Bachelor's degree? Gees... if you're not smiling at least, you really don't have a sense of humour :)

I arrived, i switched my SIM cards in my mobile phone, and checked my voicemail. Bart, my landlord left me a voicemail about the apartment. So i called him back, talked to him, arranged a time for him to come over, since he still was not done with the kitchen at the time. After 20 minutes or so, i was standing in front of my apartment door, with my keys and luggage, paying the taxi driver. I thanked him and he left as i proceeded to open my door, i tried 3 wrong keys before i got i right, how silly of me, haha... I had only been gone 3 and a half months, but i couldn't even remember which key went where.

I dragged my luggage in and opened my room door (got it right the first time). Started cleaning up by removing the bedsheets i had laid onto most of my furniture to prevent too much dust. Then i wiped the pieces of furniture that were not covered by bedsheets, then vacuumed.

Only a few days later did i wash most of my pots and pans, cutlery, etc and take my microwave, kettle and rice cooker out from "hiding" cos the landlord removed all the stuff on the counter (he was doing work in the kitchen---putting in new tiles and vinyl on the ground. So now my kitchen looks like new, and it's much cleaner too, and i can use all the cupboards).

Hmm... Other things that have been going on...

Went to orientation, was great. Met up with most of the international students from Foundation/Diploma block, like Lea Angeles (her dad was involved with Family Guy, don't know if he still is), Kim (she's a Briton, but family lives in Indonesia, so did she, she's doing Mass Communication this year, was in IMT with me, that's where we met, Lea too), Jay Panicker (from Singapore, nice, conservative Indian girl, we got left outside a club once, if you remember that episode). Met a 3rd year exchange student from the US. Told me he's going to take part in yet another independent film festival as he has been doing so for about 3 years already. So i offered to be a crew member, afterall, i do need the practical experience, as much as i can get. Gave him my email add and hp no, he gave me his. He sent me the script on the 21st, i read it on Friday (23rd) at Kannan's place (if you remember, they have internet) and told him i had nothing to add to the script (yes, he told me i could add stuff to the script if i wanted, which was cool, but mainly he wanted me to scout out locations where we could shoot at, footage of Australia, Brisbane to be exact, something that would show the audiences it was Brisbane), then afterwards, at about 3am, i had an idea, so i extended the script a little and send a 2nd email.

Today, the 25th, i got a voicemail on my phone from Mike Quill (Mike, the exchange student) saying he wants to discuss the script tomorrow, so this is great. I haven't called him back yet though, i'll do that later tonight.

Met 4 new faces at the faculty orientation for BFA and BCI (Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Creative Industries) students doing FTV(film and TV or TV) only. Two girls and 2 guys. Names are Melissa, Anaka (read like Anakin from Star Wars but with an A at the back instead of IN), Sam and Adrick. Two with not-so-conventional names and another two with easy-to-remember names.

Class starts tomorrow, 26th Feb 2007.

Oh, i'd like to congratulate Morgan, he has decided to come to QUT asap after all the commotion and depression, not to mention disappointment in his fellow classmates and lecturers in KL. Brisbane is a great place to study, plus it's great to break the trend of all the cousins going to study in Melbourne instead of anywhere else in Australia (hint, hint, Brisbane). Haha... Hoorah!

In Other News... Haha...

Daniel, my new flatmate just moved in on Friday, 23rd Feb 07', which is great. He is Nadira's ex-boyfriend. This should be good new experience 1 living with a guy and 2 living with a friend, not Shirley. In case you're wondering, Nadira is my friend, she's from KK, so is Daniel, Nadira was my best friend in Primary 1 at St James. After that we sort of lost touch, the first time i saw her in a long time was during orientation day at Foundation last year. I remember mentioning her in one of my previous posts.

Will inform you on how it is living with him. This may take a few weeks or months. I'm sure i'll whine about stuff from time to time, hahaha... I know me so well. But a small part of me hopes that i will have no complaints about living with him. Oh, i'll post his photo soon, after i upload the photo from my phone to my com then my com to my harddisk, then my harddisk to blogger. So be patient.

Oh, and our gang has decided that Friday night will be our night to gather and catch up. The usual venue: Yuka's place aka Kannan's place aka Alan's place. For the past 2 Friday nights we have rented movies from the not-so-nearby BLOCKBUSTER and have made a movie marathon of it. Been great. We eat junk like popcorn, don't sleep til we get headaches (kidding, we normally sleep after 2 movies) and drink Kannan's good coffee at any hour (he makes the coffee for everyone).

The first Friday at their place was on Chinese New Year, if i'm not mistaken, it was the night of the 18th. We took the opportunity to celebrate not only Chinese New Year, but also Chi Wee's birthday (18th), my birthday (19th) and Sherman's birthday (20th). Alan cooked a feast for us--- rice, lamb, cabbage, chicken wings, chicken drumsticks and so on. They were delicious.

Oh, last piece of information, Shairah, Yuka, Daniel, Nadira, Chung Kiet and I went to the Sexpo yesterday, just for fun and to experience what it's like. There were a lot of stalls set up by a variety of adult shops, and there were also performances. But nothing TOO x-rated. FYI, there was a performance by a guy who paints with his Ding Dong, two girls who popped out their boobs and kissed each other, but they weren't that hot and 3 guys doing a gay strip dance (don't worry, no Ding Dongs, just muscles) to music like 'Wild World', 'Cherry Pie', 'You and Me' by Lifehouse and other lame songs. The guys weren't that hot either. Hmm... so it really wasn't that great. We didn't buy anything but fudge and got out free 60 second hand wash by this really cool product that lasts 24 hours and moisturises. Shairah took their card so i think i might buy one or two jars for my mom and myself before i head back to KK end of this year. Chung Kiet (from KL, talks like a Malaysian and doesn't think before he speaks) actually was really quiet and looked uncomfortable that day. Haha... finally he has nothing to say but "i'm ok" when we asked him if he was okay. hahaha...

Well, that's bout it. Will let you know how classes go and what life at uni is like as soon as i get a feel of it.

Thanks for reading and thanks for caring!!

hmmm, 1st of all, correction. I'm not depressed here in KL. 2nd, the group of friends that I'm with are good people. Not the typical KLnites. Yeah, thats about it. And yes, SEXPO would be good to kill the curious kat. Xp. Your joke about the bachelor... are you that lonely? AHAHAH.. JK!!!
