Hello friends and family,
I know it's been ages since i last blogged, what can i say, i've been busy. Here's what's been going on, in dot points:
1 We shot our group Narrative Production project up at Mt. Tamborine, stayed over at Annika's place, one of our group members' house, for 2 nights. Our shoot started on Thursday morning, ended on Saturday evening. It went great, was very happy with the footage and my group, i think we work pretty well together. I could go into detail, but i don't have the time and it may not be as interesting to you as it is to me, so i'll spare you. This post is meant to catch you up on what's been going on... That's all. Also, i don't want Lay San to say "your dot points are like four paragraphs" or something along those lines. Haha... Point taken.
2 Another group project for Resource Management is going shittily as opposed to swimmingly. We're supposed to put together a hypothetical short film budget as a group, then write an accompanying essay each, about our findings, problems we may have encountered and how we solved them. Initially there were 4 of us in the group (Tracey, Serena, Chris and myself), but 2 weeks after the assignment was issued, one of the girls named Serena sent us an sms (which i still keep to remind me that i have to stay focused), saying that she's dropping out of uni and that she's sorry for doing this but it's just "something i've gotta do". Gosh, i remember how pissed i was that day. Curses, curses... I sort knew it was coming though, cos a week before the sms, we had a group meeting which Tracey decided to ditch without explaining why, but anyway, it was just me, Chris and Serena, and we talked and she'd mentioned that she's be leaving after the semester. Whatever. I don't really care. It was more like a WARNING. My WARNING BELLS should have been ringing then. Oh well, now we're down to 3 people, and we have to handle this huge ass budget... Gosh... I hate this aspect of filmmaking, the production side... It's the least interesting side, but it's also the most important side. Talk about irony. Ooops... paragraph is getting too long... moving on...
3 Daniel, Linda and I attended a memorial service last Friday. She was an acquaintance to Daniel and I but a classmate to Linda and Nadira. Nadira is in the States of course. Wonder if she knows. But anyway, we went to pay our last respects. I've never been to a memorial service before, let alone a funeral, but gees... Sad, she died of heart failure, one of the arteries was blocked and caused the heart to swell, and... well you know the rest. Like i said, i didn't know her well enough, so i didn't expect to cry, but i did when the brother was giving his eulogy and started talking about how she called home every week, but her mom was waiting for her call and she never called. Gosh, that really got to me and tears just started streaming. Terrible. But after that i was fine.
4 MAGGOTS GALORE!! About a week ago, i was leaving the house to go to work when i saw a lone maggot crossing the hallway like it was crossing the road. I was so grossed out, but i picked it up, chucked it into the toilet bowl and left for work. When i got home later that night, i found three more at random places on the carpet. I was so disturbed, i started looking for them and golly gee they were EVERYWHERE!!! Mainly they were sitting snugly in the creases between the carpet and the wall. Yuck Yuck Yuck!!! This "search" of mine began while Daniel was cooking pasta and chicken for us. So when i found the first one, i showed it to him and he too was freaked out but went back to cooking. So while he was cooking i found and drowned quite a few, but i did not rest until i'd exterminated them all... Muahaha... muahahaha... ha. Not really though, anyway, by the time dinner was ready, we'd lost our appetite, but ate for the sake of eating. Later, we tore the living room apart, lifting furniture and Nad and David's junk off the floor to make sure we'd killed them all. At around 9.30pm, we were sure we'd gotten all of them. The weird thing is we don't know where they came from. It wasn't our trash cos we take out trash every Monday cos Tuesday's trash day and it wasn't some rotten corpse or anything cos there was no stench and there were no dead rats or whatever. Conclusion: WEIRD.
5 I'm waiting on a job offer or more like an interview for the position of lighting assistant on a short film titled "Doll Story" which will commence shooting around mid-November after my exams. Ideally, i would get the job and we'll finish shooting before it's time for me to return to KK (27th Nov), but since the production manager hasn't gotten back to me yet and claims she's busy, the shooting schedule might change and might drag on until early December. So it depends really... I might have to change my ticket or i might have to turn down the job if i get it. Oh well. I'll cross that bridge when i come to it. These final weeks of uni are mad as usual, i've got a presentation + essay due on the 24th, the bloody short film budget and our group short film for Narrative Production due on the 29th, a Film Genres exam on the 7th of Nov and my take home test which i'll receive in class on the 24th due on the 9th of Nov. Shiza. Muerta. Fahn.
6 What have i been doing besides uni work and work lately? Well, i've been watching Season 1 of 30 Rock! I've already finished watching it, but anyway, it's great. Real funny. Tina Fey's a comedic genius.

1.Maggots can only derived from dead meat during rotting. how come no stinking smell? i am also puzzled! u should closed all the windows so to keep the smell in to trace where the smell is coming from.
2.i am a bit confused cos u said tat at mt. tamborine, u stayed at annika's place and tat she is in ur team.But ur team consists of Tracy, Serena,Chris n u. so who is annika?
3. u said u recd sms from tracey n tat she will b leaving at d end of the term. then later u said tracey did not come to the meeting so who s in ur final team now? Are they all asians of aussies or from somewhere else? not tat i m trying to be racial but interesting in how they mix the students.thx dear. frm. yatman
