Totally forgot to update you on the QNFA Awards

Nominated for 5 awards, our film managed to win 2, which is better than expected. Lazy to elaborate, kinda tired.

Basically, we won Best Tertiary "Other", which is the "best film" of a university entry (hence the "tertiary") in any other genre apart from the Drama genre, cos there's a category for Best Tertiary Drama. We're happy about that, duh, we won, what more can we ask for.

Also, Devin Glass, our composer, won Best Original Score which i think he fully deserves, i love the song he wrote. I can see him reaching the status of Clint Mansell, Danny Elfman, Tyler Bates, Mark Isham.... that crowd.

As Kannan predicted, i did have to give a speech for each award, which i didn't prepare. Haha... Just winged it. Kannan said to make them short and sweet, so i did, and he said i did good for something that was unprepared, so whatever... He also said, "you'd better not start thanking God and your parents and all that stuff". Haha... obviously a joke and a remark about how only big time Oscar winners do that shit. We both laughed after his comment, but guess what, some people actually DID thank their supportive parents, and there was this one guy who was soooo emotional, he looked like he was on the verge of tears, Kannan and i had to suppress our laughter.

Oh my God, it's not like any of us won some major award or anything, gees... it's a local competition, get over yourself. Anyway, will work towards winning my own one day, hopefully next year or something, one tier at a time.

At the after party, Kannan had a glass of red, i had a glass of white, both on the QNFA tab, then we headed off for food! Glorious food! We were so worried about dressing the appropriate level of "smart" and just the right level of "casual" that we didn't have dinner cos we were supposed to be at the venue around 6.45pm and i had work til 3pm that day and Kannan til 4pm. Obviously we spent the time between the end of work and 6.25pm taking showers and dressing up in front of the mirror at home, then calling each other up asking if this or that was suitable, yada yada yada... all that vain shit.

Weirdly enough, we sorted out exactly what was "smart casual", but we didn't discuss anything about colour, so in the end, when he came to meet me at my place, he was wearing a black top and white pants and me, a white top and black pants. Gosh... What are the odds. I didn't notice until we were inside the Tivoli Theatre and he pointed it out. Hilarious. We were like a set of twins or something, except that one is brown and one is yellow. Hahaha... I'm tired.

Anyway, Daniel just got home from this get together where he met his new girlfriend's circle of friends, he's pissed drunk. Talking crap, not walking straight, sitting on the floor, hugging me good night. Funny...

We cleaned the apartment today. He initiated it, for some reason he REALLY wanted to clean today. It's all good.

One last hurdle til the mid-sem break--my film genres essay (part c), due next friday. Ah... then i'll be helping out on a third year's graduating film. Interesting i hope. That's all for now. It's late and i'm tired.

Thanks for reading and thanks for caring!
