TV, Cinema and things you can't and shouldn't criticize when in Australia
Anyways, back to TV in Australia... Here's my TV schedule:
{Monday} 8.40pm- Desperate Housewives
{Tuesday}7.30pm- Survivor Exile Panama, 8.30pm-The O.C., 9.30pm-Rove Live
{Wednesday}7.30pm-Survivor Exile Panama and Thank God You're Here at the same time, i usually flick between channels.
{Thursday}8.30pm-Lost
{Friday} i watch whatever i want because on Saturdays i have no school. haha. I usually fall asleep with the TV on ABC cos Rage is on... It's like Mtv, i've talked about it before.
But one thing about the movies they show on TV is that they're way way slower than Malaysia (Astro). The movies they premiere for the first time on TV here have already premiered in Malaysia ages ago. Movies like How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days, Gosford Park and The Italian Job. Those movies were on TV in Malaysia last year. So that's the second downside of movies on TV here.
Same thing goes with Cinema here, movies like Zathura which came out in January in Malaysia only got released in March here. And the worst thing so far is that Aeonflux, the crap movie, is not even out here yet. Not even now. It's funny like that. Movies here are released later when compared to Malaysia. But the upside is that they don't cut out any scenes whatsoever unlike in Malaysia where a tiny kissing scene is cut and other parts of the movie are cut just cos they try to fit more shows in a day, it's pathetic. But cinema tickets here are really expensive, the cheapest is at Southbank, I've mentioned this before, the tickets there are $5 something compared to Hoyt's Cinema in the city where they charge $10.80, and that's student price. So that sucks when you convert back to Ringgit.
There are 3 things that you cannot criticize in Australia:
First thing is the sport. You cannot, i repeat, cannot criticize or bad mouth the Wallabies or any other Australian sporting team.
Second thing is Anzac Day, which is today, which is why we have a public holiday. It's to commemorate the soldiers that died fighting at Gallipoli (I hope i spelled it correctly) when they were fighting for the British back in the day when Australia was still colonized by the Brits. It's a solemn day for mourning.
Third thing is Vegemite, I love it, I'm the only one in class that loves it. In OM yesterday when Scott Leisemann (Director Of Studies and my Math A1 teacher) was taking over for Tony Carr (my usual OM teacher who's a bullshitta and boring as sejarah) he asked us what 2 things outsiders shouldn't criticize when amidst Aussie people, so i said Vegemite and he laughed with the whole class. I was laughing too even though i was serious. So yeah, Vegemite.
Thanks for reading and thanks for caring!!!

lets not forget you're watching national tv here. back in malaysia, all we watch is Astro, and I doubt tv 1, 2 and 3 ever showed movies prermiered 1-5 years ago. cos they ain't game enough. so tv here ain't that bad. The process usually goes this way.. form what i heard
Cinema---> DVD---> Payed TV----> National TV.
