A little something about my chinese new yr in sdk
As usual my family went to sdk to celebrate with relatives. We flew there.
Funny incident: my mom sat in 1st class alone, all kids sat in economy class... anyways, i brought my skateboard so my mom asked if i needed her to let her take it, since she could ask for it to be put in a safe place. When we arrived and started to descend the plane first class went first. My mom who was holding my skateboard with tarantulas on the deck got various weird looks from other "first classers". And the air steward asked her if it was hers... haha... she had to explain out loud so everyone could hear.
FUN EVENTS:
The usual routine when Noel and Morgan are around is that we either go driving, have jam sessions, go skateboarding or watch movies. The whole FUN PACKAGE! haha. this year was no exception except that there were a lotta open houses to go to and the best part------ we could GAMBLE!!!
But first let's start with driving, morgz just got his drivers license so he needs to brush up his skills... some times noel would trail behind morgz and sometimes we'd all go in one car with either morgz or noel driving. We'd usually go to the sibuga highway, batu sapi, jalan cecily, mile 4 aka the market and indah. SOOOO much fun. U might think sitting in the car and driving around is boring but it's really a lotta fun. We talk about crap, we nap, we test out the acceleration rate of the cars(bmw, matrix). But mostly we enjoy each other's company (sounds cheesy?? well we do, cos we hardly meet up.) There've been two cars(a hilux and a lancer-i think) that have tried to race us. but we won both times, don't worry it was on the highway.
Jam sessions usually involve just morgz and i, but sometimes charlene sings along. Jamming is always fun, cos like i said we hardly get together and when we do, we may not have an electric guitar and a set of drums in the same place, so it's always a pleasure. Morgz is a natural at inventin new tunes and rifts... cool.
Moving on to skateboarding, hmm... where do i start with this one?? ok, in the 8days and 7 nights i spent in sdk for chinese new yr, we went skating 4 times. First two times only
morgz n i went. we usually skated round the taman (fuliwa) looking for small slopes and when we were lucky the 2nd time both of us skated, the basketball court was unoccupied, so we could practise ollies and turning and manuals. On the 3rd time jordan came along and this time we packed our boards into the back of the matrix and we went scouting for slopes and flatland to skate on. The best slope we found was the sentosa slope, it was long and inclined enough that we could get speed. A good flatland was the basketball court in the sdk hospital compound. haha. hardly anyone used it, i think partly cos no one knew bout it. On my last day in sdk, we went skating in all 3 places (the fuliwa basketball court, the sentosa slope and the hospital's basketball court). This time sheldon came along. the slope was the most fun. instead of skating down halfway, we or should i say morgz and shel skated down the whole slope. the reason i couldn't skate all the way down was cos my board got too shaky towards the end (which is where we gain most momentum and where there is the most inclination on the slope)which was caused by the nut holding my trucks and board together was a bit too loose. It kinda became a life and death decision the first time i went down and the board started shaking real bad. Sheldon was right beside me, he saw it. It was rocky. So i had to jump off my board half way and run!!! cos of the speed i was going at it was impossible to jump off and stay there... my legs had to keep moving or i woulda fell on my face flat. haha.. it's quite funny now, thinking bout it. i tried the 2nd time and still failed, was too dangerous. the slope was a road so we had to be very careful and i didn't wanna lose control of my board and tumble down... so i couldn't go the whole way. i'll make sure i tighten the nut before i go next time. Another cool thing was riding downhill (on the sentosa slope) sitting on our boards... we get much more momentum cos our bodies r so close to the board and
it was a new experience for all of us, sorta a street luge, just with a board. I also enjoyed going for snacks after skating, we went to habeeb(beebebebeeb) and sometimes to the market for delicious kapbeng and toufufa. NICE!!! Gonna miss that.
This time we didn't watch as many movies as the last time we were there. I think i only watched 3 this time or two... but usually it's a lotta fun cos we have mushroom soup late at night while we watch. and we can watch from 12am to 4am... haha... two movies. always enjoyable...
Open houses, we went to my dad's on the first day, then uncle tet had his, then on the 3rd day uncle edwin... we visited some of uncle tet's and uncle edwin's friends' houses for angpau of course and free food as everyone does when
it comes to open houses during chinese new yr.
Gambling, gambling, GAMBLING!!! hahaha... most of the nights at uncle tet's hse during chinese new yr would be spent gambling. there'd b two tables, a blackjack table where my dad (Mr. Slaughterhouse) or Alvin (megan's friend from kl) would be the dealer and the "fung diam" table or "RED DOT" if u want it translated. haha... i played fung diam most nights and last night (our last night in sdk, and when i say our i mean char, doug and i) (stef came back a day before us for 4 hrs of theory class she couldn't afford to miss) i played blackjack... On the days i wore any other shirts besides my red nike shirt i only won few ringgit more than my capital. So i ended up wearing the same red nike shirt four days in a row without throwing it in the wash so i could win extra... and i did... hahaha... cool.
This is of course copied and pasted here from CDP, as all cousins will know.
